Our, Madhavan Gopalachary, was requested to give a guest lecture to the final year MBA students of RVS Institute of Management Studies and Research at Sulur, Coimbatore, TN, India. This lecture was delivered by him at their premises on March 30, 2012.
This lecture was attended by all the students belonging to different specialization streams. There were totally 120 students.
The topics that were specified to be covered in 6 hours were:
Various approaches for strategy implementation – 7’S model – Strategic control process – Quantitative and qualitative tools – strategic audit – Balanced score card – Michael porter’s approach for Globalization – Future of strategic management.
The lecture received standing ovation and appreciation of all concerned. The feedback was excellent and the Assistant Professor who was coordinating the event said that they never witnessed such a guest lecture before by any person and with so many examples. She also mentioned that the lecture was delivered for 6 hours standing, with the same energy and enthusiasm levels by him. We always knew that but this is being mentioned only the second time. The first time was in 2002 at Covansys India, when he was 10 years younger and fitter.
